You Can’t Buy Patience
- Written by Andrew Fiebert
Do you want to buy a solution to your money problems? Do you check your investments daily? Can you flawlessly execute a desk flip? If so, you may suffer from chronic No Patience Syndrome.
The good news is, you’re not alone, many of us have No Patience Syndrome. However, it’s rare that you get to witness a Stan Smith style desk flip. Why is everything so hard!
Actually, it’s not that hard, you’re just being reckless and dramatic. Guess what, if you buy a stock because someone told you to, you deserve to lose your money, and you probably will. If you’re afraid of losing your money because you can’t help yourself but sell at a price lower than what you paid, you also deserve to lose your money.
Why can’t you do the research yourself? Also, do you even have a solid investment base in market average funds like VTI, Vanguard’s “Total Stock Market ETF”? Of course not, you’re off buying something Jim Cramer told you about. Smart!
Sometimes I think I can actually hear them calling to unweary investors, “step right up, give it a shot, everyone’s a winner!” What these people don’t realize is that they’re stepping into a game that’s already been rigged against them.
These inexperienced investors are betting against the house. The odds are stacked against them and they are not professional gamblers like the wall street traders taking their money. Buy gold, everyone’s a winner!
See, investing isn’t for the people who fly by the seat of their pants. Investing is for the people who are capable of planning ahead. Not only do you need to make sure you don’t spend everything you earn but you need to be able to put money away with the confidence that you won’t need it tomorrow. The goal is to NOT get yourself into a jam where you need to withdraw your investments and take a loss.
Instead of desperately looking for the quick money solution, why don’t you take half of that time and learn about The Real Money Solution (patent pending). The Real Money Solution is a vastly complicated process where you spend less than you make and squirrel those savings away in a very boring, very simple but consistent set of investments that will relentlessly work towards increasing your wealth.
There is beauty in simplicity and most things in life are not nearly as hard as you make them out to be. Here at Listen Money Matters we’re trying to pull back the curtain and show you that there is no grand Wizard, it’s just some guy in a booth putting on a show. We’ll teach you that budgeting is critically important and even show you with our own money that investing can be super simple and provide great returns!
The only thing you really need to know is that there is no short cut. When you’re in the race for the long run and focus on time saving things like automating your finances, you just live your life and before you know it you’re considered wealthy!
